Better delivery, not bigger teams

Origin Wave exists because we believe great software comes from focused teams and efficient delivery, not from throwing more people and budget at the problem.

Who's behind the work

I'm Adam. I've been hooked on building things for the web since I was 11. What started as a hobby became paid work at 17, and a full-time career from 2008, working across everything from marketing agencies and consultancies to B2B research platforms and B2C finance apps.

Over the years I've watched talented teams slow themselves down. More people meant more meetings, more moving parts, and more things falling through the cracks. Projects didn't fail because of bad work – they stalled because of the weight of the organisation around them.

That's why I started Origin Wave as a lean consultancy with minimal overhead, built to focus on efficient project delivery. Over the years I've built a network of specialists I've worked with and trust. They join projects where their expertise matters most, focused on the work they're genuinely passionate about.

What the first weeks look like

Every project is different, but the early stages follow a similar pattern. We take time upfront to understand your business, your team, and the problem we're solving. It makes everything that follows faster and better.

  • First conversation

Transferring years of business knowledge to an external team is hard. No amount of documentation or kickoff meetings fully captures how your company thinks, what your constraints are, or why things work the way they do.

    Our approach

We put the work in early. Before workshops, between sessions, and outside of meetings, we're researching your industry and thinking about your problem.

By the time we're proposing solutions, we understand your world well enough to be a genuine partner in the decisions, not just a pair of hands.

  • Meeting your team

Remote collaboration is efficient, but it's difficult to build real trust with people you've never met. Misunderstandings happen more easily, communication stays surface-level, and the working relationship takes longer to find its rhythm.

    What we do

We come to you early on, even though we work remotely the rest of the time. We meet the people we'll be working with, learn how your team communicates, and build a real relationship before any work begins.

Starting face to face makes everything that follows easier.

  • Discovery workshops

Too many projects start with a list of features and jump straight into building. Three months later, everyone realises the brief was solving the wrong problem.

    How we work

We run structured workshops that go beyond requirements gathering. What does success actually look like? What are the constraints? What's been tried before?

We want to understand the business problem properly so we're building the right thing, not just building something.

  • Research and preparation

Most of the costly mistakes in software projects don't come from bad code. They come from gaps in understanding that nobody spotted early enough.

    How we deliver

Between sessions, we do our homework. We study your industry, look at what competitors are doing, and think through the problem before jumping to solutions.

When we come back to the table, we come back informed and ready to challenge assumptions, including our own.

  • Build and deliver

Long projects lose momentum when the people making decisions are too far from the people doing the work. Context gets diluted through layers of handoffs and status meetings.

    One person, start to finish

I lead the build personally, whether that's a custom web application, an AI integration, or a rework of an existing platform. You have direct access to the person making the decisions and writing the code.

When we need specialist expertise, I bring in the right people, but I stay with the project from start to finish.

This is the foundation of every project. Where it goes from here depends on what you're building.
